CNA Announces 2025 Board Election Results, New Appointments, and Board Chair

The Canadian Nuclear Association (CNA) is pleased to announce the results of its 2025 Board of Directors election, following the conclusion of its Annual General Meeting.

Newly Elected Board Members

The following individuals have been elected to serve a two-year term, ending at the close of the 2027 Annual General Meeting or until their successors are elected:

  • John Gorman
    President, Westinghouse Canada
    As President of Westinghouse Canada, John leads the company’s strategic growth across its suite of nuclear products and services. He previously served as President & CEO of the Canadian Nuclear Association, led CanSIA and held senior roles at Empower Energies. John has also served on the boards of major utilities and was Canada’s Designate to the IEA’s Photovoltaic Power Systems Programme.
  • Justin Gray
    Chief Operating Officer, Framatome Canada
    Justin Gray is an EPC executive in the Canadian nuclear industry with 15 years of experience primarily focused on CANDU technology and services. At Framatome Canada, Justin is responsible for executive oversight, planning, and directing activities within the Canadian business, including Isogen. 

Re-elected Board Members

  • Jack Craig
    President and CEO, CNL
    Jack is a seasoned nuclear industry veteran with over 30 years of experience in technical, management and executive leadership positions, with extensive experience in the development and implementation of growth strategies, performance evaluations, joint venture governance across the US and Canada, and ensuring safe and efficient delivery of contractual commitments in the nuclear sector.
  • Pat Dalzell
    Vice President, Corporate Affairs and Market Development, Bruce Power
    Pat brings his finance and trading expertise to Bruce Power’s corporate affairs and market development, with oversight for government and stakeholder engagement, corporate and community communications, where he promotes energy innovation and the use of nuclear isotopes in the fight against cancer. Pat is also the Chair of the Association of Power Producers of Ontario (APPrO).
  • Heather Ferguson
    Senior Vice President, Business Development & Corporate Affairs, Ontario Power Generation
    At OPG, Heather’s focus includes ensuring progress on the company’s Reconciliation Action Plan and advancing hydroelectric generation development across the province in partnership with local Indigenous communities. She is also responsible for all stakeholder, public and media outreach, government relations, Indigenous relations, and branding activities in support of OPG’s business goals. ​Heather also serves as a Director on the Boards of Atura Power, APPro and Electricity Canada, and is Vice Chair of Electricity Canada’s Generation Council.
  • Amy Gottschling
    Vice-President, Science, Technology & Commercial Oversight, Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (AECL)
    Amy Gottschling is Vice President of Science, Technology and Commercial Oversight at AECL, where she oversees nuclear science and technology programs at Canadian Nuclear Laboratories for the Government of Canada and third-party clients. Amy plays a key and fundamental role in executing the long-term strategy for AECL and driving nuclear opportunity for Canada.​
  • Lisa McBride
    VP, Country Leader, Small Modular Reactors, GE Vernova Hitachi
    Lisa is responsible for the vision and strategy to lead the deployment and implementation of GE Vernova Hitachi’s BWRX-300 Small Modular Reactor in Canada. Lisa holds several other board positions including, the Organization of Canadian Nuclear Industries, the WiN Global Executive Board and is a Governor at the Ontario Tech University Board of Governors.​
  • Tammy Van Lambalgen
    Vice President, Chief Corporate Officer, Orano Canada Inc
    At Orano Canada, Tammy has oversight over legal, human resources, corporate social responsibility and communications. Tammy first was appointed as a Vice President at Orano in 2008 when she expanded her oversight to include regulatory affairs, including CNSC licensing and environmental permitting.  Tammy also currently serves on the Board of Directors of SaskPower, and the Saskatoon Airport Authority.

Board Chair Appointment

At the organizational meeting of the Board following the AGM, the Board appointed Julianne den Decker as Chair of the CNA Board of Directors for a two-year term. Julianne was previously elected in September 2024 to complete the outgoing Chair’s term, which concluded in June 2025. Her new appointment follows the open election of the Chair position and reflects the Board’s confidence in her continued leadership.

In addition to the elected directors, the Board has appointed Rebecca Caron, President, Society of United Professionals, as an additional director for a one-year term. Ms. Caron brings executive-level experience as a union leader and senior advocate for labour interests, adding valued insight to the Board’s strategic discussions and governance. This appointment reflects the Board’s continued commitment to ensuring it represents the diverse perspectives and voices shaping Canada’s nuclear sector.
