CNA Workforce Planning Forum
CNA Workforce Planning Forum
This is a one-day workshop on workforce planning within the Saskatchewan nuclear sector. This event is designed to provide valuable insights and strategies to address workforce challenges in the industry. As a benefit of your CNA membership, this workshop is offered at no additional cost.
Canadian jurisdictions are moving toward a sustainable future leveraging existing power-generating assets and new technologies. The nuclear sector is well-positioned to provide a significant portion of this need through the buildout of large and small reactors across the country. These growth projections must be supported by an increase in the skilled workforce necessary to meet demand. New nuclear advancements will require a new generation of engineers, technicians, operators, scientists, entrepreneurs, regulators and policy makers who have the requisite knowledge, skills and experience to enable, steer, build, regulate and operate new fleets.
Some of the key challenges related to the nuclear workforce include: maintaining the current workforce in light of an aging population and voluntary attrition; an increasingly competitive labor market across all positions; lack of sufficient training programs to enable growth of a younger workforce; and, making the nuclear sector attractive to students.
The CNA is working with its members to explore the solutions to these and other challenges. The events will bring the nuclear sector together to explore and discuss possible solutions to many of the challenges in the workforce space. The presentations and discussions will directly inform the sector’s workforce strategy that will be a focus for CNA and its members in the next couple years.
CNA 2025
Building upon recent years of unprecedented growth in government and public support, the Canadian nuclear industry is breaking ground, expanding manufacturing facilities, pouring concrete, and starting to build the next generation of our country’s nuclear fleet. CNA2025 will move beyond discussing high-level targets and goals to focus on practical and immediate solutions of how to turn ambition, on both large and small nuclear, into reality. This is set to be the largest and most important CNA conference ever, featuring both high-level and technical programming spread across multiple stages.
Canadian Radiotheranostics’ Leaders’ Summit – Save the Date
This annual event hosted by the Canadian Nuclear Isotope Council (CNIC), a consortium of academic centers (UHN, LHSC, BCCA, CAMH), and the Canadian Medical Isotope Ecosystem (CMIE) brings together leaders from Canada’s isotope community and abroad to discuss common issues and strategic opportunities in the isotope and radiotheranostics industry.
In 2025, the Canadian Radiotheranostics Leaders’ Summit will be expanding in scope and scale to reach new audiences and include more opportunities to discuss new and emerging trends, research, and applications.
Expansion of the Leaders’ Summit also creates tremendous opportunities for CNIC Members to get involved and showcase their work in some new ways this year, including an exhibitor hall, larger student program, and new advertising opportunities!
14th International Conference on Tritium Science and Technology
