Canada’s nuclear sector is experiencing an impressive resurgence. A recent study by the CNA reveals a 17% increase in jobs since 2019, with the workforce now numbering 89,000 individuals. This growth translates to a $22 billion annual contribution to Canada’s GDP, underscoring the industry’s economic significance.

This positive momentum is driven by several factors, including successful nuclear plant refurbishment projects and increasing recognition of nuclear energy’s pivotal role in decarbonization and energy security. Notably, 44% of nuclear jobs are held by those under 40, indicating a promising future for the sector.
