CNA PARTICIPATES IN UK NUCLEAR INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION BUSINESS GROUP ROUNDTABLE
OTTAWA (February 27, 2018) – The Canadian Nuclear Association (CNA) President Dr. John Barrett was among the speakers at the Nuclear Industry Association (NIA) International Business Group roundtable in London discussing “UK and Canada – Driving Global Nuclear Competitiveness” on February 26.
In his presentation, Dr. Barrett gave a quick overview of the current situation in Canada, focusing on Canada’s efforts to map opportunities for a Small Modular Reactor fleet, the multi-billion-dollar refurbishment at two nuclear facilities in Ontario and Canada’s current nuclear technology export market.
He also discussed the common ground Canada and the UK could chart together in nuclear collaboration, such as a joint vision, industry-to-industry exchanges and links to the Canada-UK COP23 government initiative to create an alliance to phase out coal globally.
