Canadian Nuclear Association cooperating with international partners on sharing fact-based information related to conflict in Ukraine

March 4, 2022

The Canadian Nuclear Association is working closely with the Canadian government, our members, and our international partners to ensure the veracity and reliability of all facts and information being released and shared regarding the status of nuclear power generating facilities in Ukraine.

We are actively working to address the rapid spread of misinformation regarding the situation in Ukraine and urge anyone seeking to learn more and understand what is happening to refer to the reports and statements coming from our partners at the International Atomic Energy Agency. The most up to date statements by the IAEA can be found on their website

Other resources include:

  • The Nuclear Energy Agency’s resource page on the status of nuclear power installations in Ukraine
  • Statements and news by the World Nuclear Association
  • Other statements by organizations including the Nuclear Energy Institute in the United States (NEI), Nuclear Industry Association (NEA) in the United Kingdom, World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO), and the European Nuclear association, FORATOM
  • The CNA’s Canadian Nuclear Factbook 2021

The CNA will continue to work closely with our international partners to ensure that accurate and verifiable information is shared with government, the public, media, and our members.
