Détaché par Ontario Power Generation auprès de l’Association nucléaire canadienne (ANC), George Christidis possède plus de 15 ans d’expérience dans le domaine des relations avec les pouvoirs publics dans la sphère provinciale, fédérale ou internationale. Après avoir travaillé au sein de l’administration fédérale comme conseiller principal auprès de ministres et analyste principal de la politique à Diversification de l’économie de l’Ouest Canada, il est passé au secteur privé. M. Christidis a alors été directeur des affaires gouvernementales à l’Association canadienne des télécommunications sans fil et vice-président d’un grand cabinet de relations gouvernementales à Ottawa, où il a œuvré dans plusieurs secteurs, entre autres ceux de l’énergie et de l’environnement. George Christidis parle anglais, français, espagnol et grec. Il consacre ses loisirs au conditionnement physique, à la musique et à des activités familiales et fait du bénévolat au sein de la Communauté hellénique d’Ottawa, notamment comme membre du conseil d’administration chargé des communications.
John Gorman est président‑directeur général de l’Association nucléaire canadienne.
Juste avant, M. Gorman occupait le poste de président-directeur général de l’Association des industries solaires du Canada (CanSIA), association commerciale nationale représentant l’industrie de l’énergie solaire au Canada. Il supervisait toutes les activités de CanSIA, y compris les affaires gouvernementales, la recherche, les communications et le leadership de l’industrie.
Avant de se joindre à CanSIA, il était vice‑président principal à Empower Energies, intégrateur mondial et innovant de systèmes énergétiques.
M. Gorman est le représentant désigné du Canada auprès de l’Agence internationale de l’énergie (comité exécutif – Systèmes de production d’électricité photovoltaïque) et siège au conseil exécutif du Conseil canadien sur l’électricité renouvelable. Il a siégé au conseil d’administration de nombreux organismes communautaires et corporatifs, dont l’un des plus importants réseaux de distribution d’électricité du pays.
M. Gorman fait partie des lauréats canadiens du prix CLEAN50 et a été nommé ambassadeur de l’initiative « Climate Project » par le Prix Nobel Al Gore en 2008.
Emma has dedicated her career to building cross-sector collaboration for social impact at non-profit associations. She holds degrees in Honors Business Administration from Ivey Business School and Honors Spec. Global Development Studies from Huron University College. She has worked at both a national scale in venture philanthropy for public health and a regional scale in Ottawa’s local food system.
Natasha Lee is a multilingual Government Relations Associate at the Canadian Nuclear Association. She holds an HBA from the University of Toronto, where she majored in Political Science and French Language & Literature. She has also earned a Government Relations Graduate Certificate from Seneca College. Throughout her academic career, Natasha has demonstrated a strong commitment to civic engagement. Her advocacy work spans a diverse array of causes, including women’s rights and the status of North Korean refugees in Canada. Additionally, she has gained valuable experience through internships and canvassing for Members of the Provincial Parliament in the Toronto region, alongside her dedicated volunteer efforts in provincial political campaigns.
Michael began his career at Atomic Energy of Canada Limited in marketing, project financing and business development, primarily associated with Canada/U.S. electricity trade opportunities. Subsequently, he accepted a policy position with Natural Resources Canada, addressing the challenges of mine closures and resource-based communities, Aboriginal economic development and mining, and public mineral geoscience. For the past decade, he was the policy lead on natural disaster risk reduction and emergency management, with a focus on seismic and space weather hazards. The bulk of Michael’s policy activities has involved the preparation of Federal Budget Proposals, Memoranda to Cabinet, and Treasury Board Submissions.
Michael has had a lengthy, parallel career in the volunteer sector, serving on a variety of Boards, including being President of a core-city, community association. Michael is fully addicted to his garden, devours books on archaeology and history, and enjoys a good sci-fi movie.
At the Canadian Nuclear Association, Michael will apply his many years of diverse experience in science-based organizations to the development of policy that advances the potential contributions of Canada’s nuclear power industry to the well-being of Canadians, and most notably, to Canada’s net-zero 2050 goals.
Marysa is an undergraduate student studying International Relations and Public Policy at New York University. On a pre-law track, her studies focus on foreign policy and the effective implementation of international law. She holds government experience from her work on IRCC projects related to international data privacy laws and regulations. Additionally, she remains involved in student leadership and engagement as a College Leader in the NYU-CAS Office of New Students. Marysa is enthusiastic about continuing to explore the intersection of policy, science, and technology at CNA.
Laise has over twelve years of experience working in various communications and marketing roles. After working in Shanghai, China, for ten years in organizations such as the European Union Chamber of Commerce, Forestry Innovations Investments, and Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, Laise came to Ottawa in 2016 to complete an M.A. in Sustainable Energy from Carleton University. She also has a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies specializing in communications and management from Ateneo de Manila University.
