Indigenous Affairs

The Canadian Nuclear Association celebrates the inclusion of Indigenous knowledge, perspectives, rights, and partnerships in Canada’s nuclear sector. We are proud to represent the Indigenous businesses and individuals within our membership. We seek to create opportunities for meaningful connections between our members and Indigenous Nations and communities.

Please review our Reconciliation Action Plan for more information on how CNA incorporates the spirit of reconciliation in our work.

The CNA receives guidance on how to meaningfully incorporate Indigenous inclusion into our ongoing operations through the advisement of our Indigenous Relations Council.

We offer the following programs and resources:

  • Indigenous Ambassador Program
A program that removes financial, social, and logistical barriers for Indigenous leaders to engage at nuclear events and gatherings.
  • Indigenous Engagement Primer
An encyclopedia of basic information on Indigenous culture, history, and intersections with the nuclear industry.
  • Nuclear101
In-development curriculum for Indigenous communities that combines Indigenous knowledge with nuclear basics. For release in Summer 2026.
