Mohsen Nicksiar

Mohsen Nicksiar is a Senior Principal Geotechnical Engineer and team lead at Clifton Engineering Group. He has over twenty years of interdisciplinary professional experience across the nuclear, infrastructure, transportation, and clean power sectors in Canada, the US, and internationally. Mohsen has worked as an engineering lead and engineer of record on major design-build projects across Canada, delivering projects under various contractual models. He has led and reviewed major infrastructure projects in challenging ground conditions, including seismic regions, soft grounds, and urban settings. He has also led environmentally sensitive projects in the nuclear sector, such as Darlington New Nuclear Project, ensuring that safety targets are always met. Mohsen remains engaged with the Rock Mechanics Division of the Canadian Geotechnical Society, having previously served as Division Chair from 2018-2020. He also contributes to the Executive Committee in a supporting capacity and is a past Executive Member of the Canadian Rock Mechanics Association (CARMA). Mohsen holds a PhD in Geotechnical engineering from the University of Alberta and is a member of Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC), the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA), Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), Professional Engineers & Geoscientists of Newfoundland & Labrador (PEGNL), and the State of Washington Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.
