CNA Congratulates New Bruce Power President and CEO Mike Rencheck

July 18, 2016

OTTAWA (July 18, 2016) – The Canadian Nuclear Association (CNA) congratulates Mike Rencheck on his appointment as the President and CEO of Bruce Power.

Mr. Rencheck is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in nuclear operations, major capital projects and has been a tireless advocate for the important role that nuclear plays in providing safe, clean, low-cost electricity.

“Mr. Rencheck’s track record of operations excellence, project execution, and as being a strong voice for the industry, makes him a perfect fit for Bruce Power,” said CNA President and CEO Dr. John Barrett. “We look forward to working with him to ensure that nuclear remains a major part of Ontario’s Long Term Energy Plan.”

Mr. Rencheck replaces Duncan Hawthorne, who served as Bruce Power President and CEO since the company’s formation in 2001.

“Under Mr. Hawthorne’s leadership, Bruce Power grew to be the largest independent power generator in Ontario” said Dr. Barrett. “We are confident that Mr. Rencheck will build on this success, and continue to play a positive role in the community.”

Mr. Rencheck will start on August 15, 2016.
