Helping Bring Clean Energy to China
Invensys Operations Management has signed a third project-based agreement with China Nuclear Power Engineering Co. LTD (CNPE) to provide safety and distributed control systems (DCS) and solutions for Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant Units 3 and 4, two 1,000MW nuclear power units under construction in Fujian province in South East China for Fujian Fuqing Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. Under the terms of the contract, Invensys will provide its Triconex safety control system, Foxboro I/A Series® DCS and Nuclear Power Engineering services to enable Fujian Fuqing Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. achieve safety, control and environmental excellence. This is the third contract awarded to Invensys by CNPE, following agreements the companies reached in 2008 and 2010 for the development and implementation of several large-scale safety and non-safety DCS, including fully digitised main control rooms. In total, Invensys’ safety and control system technology is being installed at eight nuclear power units under construction in the Fujian, Zhejiang and Hainan provinces.

Looking ahead in 2012
Invensys plans to announce an updated Safety Evaluation Report (SER) from the USNRC for the Triconex Tricon Version 10 Nuclear Safety-Related product.
