Canadian Nuclear Association and Nuclear Industry Association pledge greater collaboration and establish Annual Nuclear Energy Forum
The Canadian Nuclear Association (CNA) and the Nuclear Industry Association of the United Kingdom (NIA UK) are pleased to announce an update to their Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that will establish of annual forum to foster greater collaboration and enable discussion and action on common strategic initiatives.
The NIA UK and CNA have a longstanding partnership, and this update to the MOU reflects their shared commitment to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries’ nuclear industries. Key issues to be advanced through this partnership include security of nuclear fuel supply, SMR regulation and design standardization, and the promotion of nuclear in green financing frameworks and policies.
A newly announced annual forum will serve as a platform for industry leaders and experts to share knowledge, exchange best practices, and explore opportunities for joint ventures and research collaborations. By facilitating dialogue and information sharing, the annual forum aims to enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of the nuclear industries in both countries.

The first annual forum is scheduled for June 2024, to be jointly hosted by the NIA UK and CNA. The event will feature panel discussions and networking sessions, providing participants with valuable insights and networking opportunities. The event will take place in parallel with Canada – UK bilateral discussions.
