Canadian Nuclear Association announces call for speakers for its 2021 Conference and Trade Show, September 15-17 in Ottawa, ON.

January 22, 2021

OTTAWA (January 22, 2021) – The Canadian Nuclear Association (CNA) is announcing its call for speakers for its annual Conference and Trade Show held in Ottawa, Ontario on Sept 15-17, 2021 at the Westin Ottawa.

The CNA Conference and Trade Show (CNA2021) is the premier event for the nuclear industry in Canada, attracting more than 900 senior executives, public policy experts, engineers, regulators, elected officials and international delegates.

The CNA is seeking speakers to expand the program to bring cutting edge concepts to the stage in 2021. We welcome submissions that touch upon the diverse range of topics that fall under the nuclear banner, that push innovative concepts and support industry best practices in areas such as research, power generation, environment, safety or nuclear medicine.

We are also eager to welcome speakers from across industries such as energy, mining, law, and the environmental field to identify and advance opportunities for our sectors to work together to meet net-zero emission targets.

We encourage applications from speakers from traditionally under-represented groups to support diversity and inclusion.

CNA2021 is seeking dynamic presentations in the following theme areas:

  • Innovation in the nuclear field including SMR’s, medicine and hydrogen
  • Climate change and sustainability
  • Nuclear impacts on non-nuclear sectors
  • International developments and the Canada-US dialogue
  • Advancing indigenous and community engagement
  • Diversity, inclusion and the next generation work force
  • Technologies for the future, including storage
  • The economics of the nuclear industry and sustainability
  • Nuclear realities in the realm of public affairs
  • Upcoming legal and regulatory opportunities and challenges
  • Existing assets, refurbishments, and decommissioning
  • Canada’s position on the global stage

Got a better idea?
If you have a unique idea, presentation or session concept that does not necessarily fit in the categories outlined above, we want to hear about it. There’s always room for great ideas that advance the nuclear industry and we’ve left an open theme section, just for you.

The deadline for submissions is February 12, 2021. Details can be found here.
