Ali Hounsell
Ali Hounsell is a senior communications and public affairs leader with more than two decades of experience at the intersection of government, industry and community. She has helped guide some of Canada’s most high-profile and complex moments in infrastructure, crisis response, and energy development, seeing firsthand how trusted relationships and clear, strategic communication can create both business success and public value.
At Energy Alberta, Ali leads communications and public affairs for the Peace River Nuclear Power Project, Western Canada’s first major nuclear project. Her previous roles include Director of Communications at Seaspan ULC, where she supported Canada’s National Shipbuilding Strategy, leading communications at Trans Mountain Corporation, where she helped steer one of Canada’s most scrutinized infrastructure projects, the Trans Mountain Expansion Project, through a highly visible regulatory and political environment. Earlier in her career, she built her foundations in storytelling and crisis management at Vancouver International Airport Authority and in news media.
Ali is currently completing her Executive MBA at the Ivey Business School at Western University and lives in North Vancouver with her family.
