CNA is a key industry partner to federal and provincial governments in advancing them, at home and internationally, and in creating commercial opportunities for the Canadian nuclear industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our recent trips to the United Kingdom, Vienna and Paris might look like three separate stops. They were in support of one strategy: to reinforce the conditions for new nuclear growth at home, and position Canadian companies, technologies, expertise, uranium and nuclear fuel to compete in a fast-growing global market. It lines up closely with the Government of Canada&#8217;s Nuclear Energy Strategy and its focus on enabling everything from large nuclear and SMRs to new technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In London, we joined Canadian and UK nuclear leaders at Canada House for Canada-UK Energy Day and took part in the World Nuclear Association&#8217;s London events on regulation, nuclear finance and the fuel supply chain. Standing alongside Saskatchewan Premier Moe and Canadian industry partners mattered. Saskatchewan is a leading global uranium producer, and as countries think harder about energy and fuel security, that is a real strategic advantage for Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/cna.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Canada-UK-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-53749\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cna.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Canada-UK-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/cna.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Canada-UK-500x375.jpg 500w, https:\/\/cna.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Canada-UK-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/cna.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Canada-UK-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/cna.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Canada-UK-2048x1536.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Vienna, we marked our tenth year at the IAEA General Conference. Together with governments and Canadian nuclear leaders, we presented an increasingly integrated Canadian offer: uranium and fuel expertise, an experienced CANDU and large-reactor supply chain, leadership in SMRs and emerging technologies, a skilled workforce, strong regulators, and growing expertise in financing and project development. We also started building relationships with countries looking to expand or establish nuclear programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What stands out is how commercial these conversations have become. Countries need technology, fuel, engineering, skilled people, regulatory expertise and financing they can trust. Canada can provide all of it, and CNA is working to make sure our members are part of those conversations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/cna.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Image-90-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-53751\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cna.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Image-90-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/cna.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Image-90-500x333.jpg 500w, https:\/\/cna.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Image-90-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/cna.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Image-90-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/cna.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Image-90-2048x1365.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The same thread ran through the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency&#8217;s Roadmaps to New Nuclear conference in Paris, where CNA President and CEO, George Christidis, represented the Canadian industry alongside senior federal officials, industry leaders and investors. The question in the room was how to get from ambition to actual projects. The outcome: Canada will now co-host the NEA in 2027 with the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Back home, Natalie Cutler, Vice President, Communications and Stakeholder Engagement, represented CNA at the Saskatchewan Nuclear Energy Forum, held on the margins of the Prime Minister&#8217;s Canada Investment Summit. She joined a panel with Saskatchewan\u2019s Minister Harrison to discuss the opportunities for Saskatchewan on the world stage.
