Canada’s electricity system is at a crossroads. Demand is climbing, and the need for reliable, non-emitting power has never been more urgent. As provinces plan major grid expansions and governments weigh their energy options, one technology is stepping forward with a track record already proven: nuclear energy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This April, the Canadian Nuclear Association will bring the country’s nuclear community together in Ottawa for CNA2026. Running from April 28 to 30 at the Rogers Centre, the three-day conference and trade show will bring together industry executives, policymakers, Indigenous partners, researchers, and innovators to tackle the practical questions shaping nuclear’s expanding role in Canada and beyond. <\/p>\n\n\n

This year’s theme is Power and Purpose, reflecting the dual mandate nuclear is being asked to fulfill: <\/s> <\/s>delivering the electricity Canadians need while supporting economic competitiveness and long-term emissions reduction. The program will dig into the priorities driving nuclear’s current momentum, with sessions exploring the deployment of both large and small reactors, the readiness of Canada’s supply chain, workforce development strategies, the production of medical isotopes, and opportunities for Canada <\/s> in international nuclear markets. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The trade show floor will showcase Canadian and international companies across the full nuclear value chain, from established operators to emerging technology providers. The exhibition reflects an industry that’s actively delivering today while preparing for tomorrow’s growth, and it positions Canada as a trusted partner in global nuclear development. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

CNA2026 will also maintain a strong focus on students and early-career professionals. Dedicated programming will give the next generation direct access to industry leaders, insight into career pathways, and a front-row seat to the conversations shaping Canada’s energy future. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Canada works to secure long-term energy reliability while supporting economic growth and reducing emissions, CNA2026 offers a critical platform for alignment and action. It’s where Canada’s nuclear community comes together to move forward.
