{"id":28113,"date":"2019-01-22T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-01-22T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ashleydev.com\/2019\/01\/22\/naygn-lobbying-for-nuclear-at-cna-queens-park-day\/"},"modified":"2020-08-27T11:26:43","modified_gmt":"2020-08-27T15:26:43","slug":"naygn-lobbying-for-nuclear-at-cna-queens-park-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cna.ca\/fr\/2019\/01\/22\/naygn-lobbying-for-nuclear-at-cna-queens-park-day\/","title":{"rendered":"NAYGN Lobbying for Nuclear at CNA Queen\u2019s Park&nbsp;Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Matthew Mairinger, Senior Advisor Stakeholder Relations, Ontario Power Generation<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Originally published at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/naygn.org\/naygn-lobbying-for-nuclear-at-cna-queens-park-hill-day\/\">naygn.org<\/a>, January 14, 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Similar to when North American Young Generation in Nuclear (NAYGN) participated in the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/naygn.org\/nuclear-advocates-unite-for-nuclear-hill-day-in-ottawa\/\">Canadian Nuclear Association\u2019s (CNA) Parliament Hill Day<\/a>, NAYGN participated in the CNA Queen\u2019s Park Day on Nov. 26.<\/p>\n<p>With 50,000 Ontarians employed across the province\u2019s nuclear industry and nuclear supplying 60 per cent of Ontario\u2019s needs, the politicians at Queen\u2019s Park seemed quite receptive to nuclear.<\/p>\n<p>The day kicked off with a briefing and overview of government priorities and then participants from NAYGN, Women in Nuclear (WiN), labour unions and the CNA broke off into 11 teams. The teams travelled to Queen\u2019s Park to meet with Members of Provincial Parliament (MPPs), policy advisors and deputy ministers to advocate for nuclear.
