{"id":27865,"date":"2014-06-10T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2014-06-10T04:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ashleydev.com\/2014\/06\/10\/edc-talks-nuclear-export-opportunities\/"},"modified":"2020-08-27T11:41:16","modified_gmt":"2020-08-27T15:41:16","slug":"edc-talks-nuclear-export-opportunities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cna.ca\/fr\/2014\/06\/10\/edc-talks-nuclear-export-opportunities\/","title":{"rendered":"EDC Talks Nuclear Export&nbsp;Opportunities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By John Stewart<br \/>\n<\/strong><em>Director, Policy and Research<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Canadian Nuclear Association<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/oci-aic.org\/\">OCI<\/a> President Ron Oberth and <a href=\"https:\/\/cna.ca\/\">CNA<\/a> staff recently participated in a detailed and constructive conversation about export financing with knowledgeable experts.<\/p>\n<p>On June 5, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.edc.ca\/EN\/Pages\/default.aspx\">Export Development Canada<\/a>, along with the CNA and OCI, hosted <em>Successful Exporting for Canadian Nuclear Companies<\/em>, an informative two-and-a-half hour presentation and luncheon discussing how companies can grow their business by exporting abroad.<\/p>\n<p>About 20 guests took part in the event at EDC\u2019s downtown Toronto office. It is part of the CNA\u2019s efforts to promote members\u2019 awareness of international opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>The conversation covered EDC\u2019s general mandate and role, client eligibility and the nuts-and-bolts of EDC\u2019s services. To access EDC\u2019s services, companies need not export directly. They only have to be part of an export supply chain.<\/p>\n<p>EDC officers Line Charbonneau, Chris Evans and Richard Ross participated, as did Louie DiPalma of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.occ.ca\/\">Ontario Chamber of Commerce<\/a>, who described services available from the provincial level.<\/p>\n<p>The CNA hopes to host another event like this in the months to come.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By John Stewart Director, Policy and Research Canadian Nuclear Association OCI President Ron Oberth and CNA staff recently participated in a detailed and constructive conversation about export financing with knowledgeable experts.
