OTTAWA (February 26, 2019)<\/strong> \u2013 On Wednesday, February 27, the Canadian Nuclear Association<\/a> (CNA) will welcome Dr. Fatih Birol, Executive Director of the International Energy Agency<\/a> (IEA), to CNA2019<\/a>, the industry\u2019s annual Conference and Trade Show in Ottawa.<\/p>\n

Dr. Birol will meet with the CNA\u2019s Executive Committee on Wednesday morning at the Westin Hotel.<\/p>\n

Later Dr. Birol will deliver a keynote address on \u201cThe Future of Nuclear Energy\u201d followed by a panel discussion with thought leaders in the energy sector.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are pleased that Dr. Birol and the IEA recognize the important role Canada\u2019s nuclear industry can play in reducing carbon emissions,\u201d said CNA President and CEO John Barrett. \u201cCNA2019 will focus on New Nuclear, including innovations in nuclear technology that make the future of nuclear energy so different from the past. Canadians want reliable and clean energy sources capable of powering past coal, while providing heat and electricity in all types of weather and conditions.\u00a0 New nuclear is answering the call.\u201d<\/p>\n
