Et cela pourrait avoir une incidence n\u00e9gative sur la sant\u00e9 et l\u2019\u00e9conomie des pays en voie de d\u00e9veloppement.<\/p>\n<p>La solution pourrait toutefois provenir de la technologie nucl\u00e9aire.<\/p>\n<p>En Indon\u00e9sie, des scientifiques de l\u2019Agence nationale pour l\u2019\u00e9nergie nucl\u00e9aire (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.batan.go.id\/index.php\/en\/\">BATAN<\/a>) ont mis au point 22\u00a0vari\u00e9t\u00e9s de riz en utilisant l\u2019irradiation pour produire des traits nouveaux et utiles dans les cultures, un processus connu sous le nom de \u00ab\u00a0s\u00e9lection par mutation\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Comme l\u2019explique l\u2019Agence internationale de l\u2019\u00e9nergie atomique (AIEA)\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0La s\u00e9lection par mutation utilise la composition g\u00e9n\u00e9tique m\u00eame d\u2019une plante, imitant le processus naturel de mutation spontan\u00e9e. Les nouvelles plantes sont ensuite test\u00e9es; celles qui pr\u00e9sentent des traits utiles sont tri\u00e9es pour une s\u00e9lection plus pouss\u00e9e et une distribution ult\u00e9rieure aux agriculteurs.<\/p>\n<p>Apr\u00e8s deux ans, le nouveau riz est un franc <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iaea.org\/newscenter\/news\/fighting-climate-change-doubling-incomes-rice-variety-developed-with-nuclear-techniques-expands-in-indonesia#infobox\">succ\u00e8s<\/a>.\u00a0Deux cents agriculteurs du Java oriental utilisent la vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de riz appel\u00e9e Inpari\u00a0Sidenuk, nom qui, en indon\u00e9sien, signifie \u00ab\u00a0D\u00e9vouement nucl\u00e9aire\u00a0\u00bb.
