Il s\u2019agit d\u2019une grande responsabilit\u00e9, car les r\u00e9acteurs alimentent le r\u00e9seau d\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 ontarien. Mais M.\u00a0Brown et son \u00e9quipe re\u00e7oivent une formation rigoureuse qui permet de maintenir leurs comp\u00e9tences au plus haut niveau.<\/p>\n<p>Troy\u00a0Brown a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 travailler \u00e0 Bruce apr\u00e8s avoir fait des \u00e9tudes coll\u00e9giales de deux\u00a0ans en g\u00e9nie \u00e9lectrique, mais il a suivi une formation pendant deux ans avant d\u2019\u00eatre qualifi\u00e9 comme op\u00e9rateur nucl\u00e9aire autoris\u00e9 \u00e0 travailler directement sur les r\u00e9acteurs. Et une formation suppl\u00e9mentaire de trois\u00a0ans lui a permis d\u2019acc\u00e9der \u00e0 son poste actuel d\u2019op\u00e9rateur autoris\u00e9 responsable d\u2019un r\u00e9acteur. M.\u00a0Brown a suivi une formation th\u00e9orique et sur simulateur qui \u00e9tait pour le moins intense, car elle portait sur les sc\u00e9narios les plus pessimistes\u00a0\u00bb, explique-t-il. M\u00eame aujourd\u2019hui, une semaine sur cinq est consacr\u00e9e \u00e0 des cours de recyclage dans un centre de formation sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9 sur le site de la centrale.<\/p>\n<p>Brown aime son travail et se r\u00e9jouit des nombreuses possibilit\u00e9s qu\u2019offre Bruce Power, mais il est tr\u00e8s conscient que sa formation en fait un travailleur tr\u00e8s pr\u00e9cieux \u00e0 la grandeur de l\u2019\u00e9conomie\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0Si je voulais quitter Port Elgin, mon bagage en g\u00e9nie \u00e9lectrique et nucl\u00e9aire me serait tr\u00e8s utile pour trouver un emploi dans n\u2019importe quelle ville.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-medium wp-image-12186 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/cna.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/workerslearning-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"workerslearning\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cna.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/workerslearning-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cna.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/workerslearning-1024x683.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>L\u2019importance de cette formation fait en sorte que l\u2019industrie nucl\u00e9aire s\u2019efforce de maintenir son personnel \u00e0 l\u2019effectif, affirme Ryan\u00a0Reeson de la centrale nucl\u00e9aire Pickering d\u2019OPG. \u00ab\u00a0Les op\u00e9rateurs sont tr\u00e8s en demande. Apr\u00e8s leur avoir donn\u00e9 une formation de deux\u00a0ans, l\u2019entreprise tient \u00e0 les garder.\u00a0\u00bb Il a lui-m\u00eame commenc\u00e9 comme op\u00e9rateur nucl\u00e9aire, mais le travail par quarts ne lui convenait pas. Apr\u00e8s quelques ann\u00e9es, M.\u00a0Reeson est devenu chef de l\u2019\u00e9quipe de contr\u00f4le du travail. Il coordonne les milliers de t\u00e2ches \u00e0 ex\u00e9cuter chaque semaine \u00e0 la centrale, afin d\u2019\u00e9viter les interf\u00e9rences entre elles. On doit avoir une bonne vue d\u2019ensemble\u00a0\u2013 ce que sa formation d\u2019op\u00e9rateur lui a permis d\u2019acqu\u00e9rir.<\/p>\n<p>La centrale Pickering devrait \u00eatre mise \u00e0 l\u2019arr\u00eat en 2020, mais M.\u00a0Reeson pr\u00e9voit d\u2019avoir acc\u00e8s \u00e0 de nombreuses possibilit\u00e9s, soit travailler \u00e0 l\u2019arr\u00eat proprement dit ou \u00e0 la centrale Darlington, qui se trouve \u00e0 proximit\u00e9. \u00ab\u00a0Je suis tr\u00e8s fier d\u2019\u00eatre au service de cette entreprise, explique-t-il. Nous produisons un bien qui alimente notre mode de vie. Et l\u2019entreprise est \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9coute de son effectif et elle appr\u00e9cie les employ\u00e9s les plus performants.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>La culture de l\u2019apprentissage se propage \u00e0 la grandeur de l\u2019industrie. Les centrales, les mines et les installations de transformation du combustible embauchent des milliers de gens de m\u00e9tier\u00a0\u2013m\u00e9caniciens d\u2019entretien, \u00e9lectriciens, etc.\u00a0\u2013, qui doivent maintenir \u00e0 jour leur accr\u00e9ditation.<\/p>\n<p>Elle rayonne aussi dans le milieu universitaire. Par exemple, des soci\u00e9t\u00e9s mini\u00e8res comme Cameco et Areva financent des programmes d\u2019apprentissage et des bourses qui aident \u00e0 former la prochaine g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de travailleurs de l\u2019industrie.
